Just one card from me today using my favourite little penny black creatures the little hedgie.  I've stamped him onto watercolour card stock and then used my Stampin Write markers to watercolour him in.  He is simply finished with some stitching and a sentiment from LOTV.

My card this week uses Penny Black's Brush Tulips stamp, coloured with marker pens and accompanied with a PB sentiment from the T for Transparent Friendship set.

Week 134 - Recipe Washi Tape

For our recipe this week we want you to use or make
WASHI TAPE
You can use the shop bought type or you can make your own one way or another. We know you will be inventive if you don't have any in your stash...
Chrissie
This card uses a fab image from A Day for Daisies, which I simply coloured with Spectrum Noir pens. The music on the body of the bird reminded me of this Washi tape from Tim Holtz, which I merely used to cover the frame which I'd made using Sizzix Framelit dies.
This one employs a little home-made washi.
I made it by sticking some double sided tape onto the back of some tissue paper and then stamping the design on it with a Stampin' Up Roller stamp. I then sliced the paper into strips with my paper trimmer. To use it, you merely remove the backing paper and adhere it to your project.
The sentiment is my first attempt at using my new Silhouette Portrait paper cutter. I think I could do with a course on it as I'm not incredibly techy. But this turned out OK more by luck than judgement I might add!

For my first card I simply coloured in the fabulous image from Stampin UP and then stitched around it using the washi tape from Stampin Up to fasten the image to the back ground.  This is one of my favourite ways to use washi tape.

My second card used the washi tape as an element on the card. The hero arts stamp is stamped onto grey card stock in the same colour ink.  The washi is from MT and the sentiment from Clearly Besotted.

SO... let's see what you can come up with this time. LIMettes never seem to be defeated  by any challenge that we manage to dream up. We can't wait to see... but remember that white space!!!!

Week 133 Round and Round

For our theme this week our challenge is
ROUND AND ROUND
For this you may use any image which implies this movement...ie things with wheels or which move in this manner etc or in fact cards with some moving parts.

My first card uses a background stamp from Lili Of The Valley stamped in Cup-O-Jo Shadow Ink from hero arts.  I also stamped the sentiment onto a tape with the same ink.  This is then stitched into the card and finished off with a button and twine.

The second card used a fabulous set from Stampin Up inked using the stampin write markers in real red, so saffron and basic grey.  I fussy cut out the motorcycle and raised it up slightly... There are also some micro beads on the spray off the back.

I'm off to Scotland for a week tomorrow so hopefully I'll still be able to visit from my Ipad but apologies now if I'm still catching up next weekend....

My first card is a simple one with an image from Stampin' Up and a sentiment from Lili of the Valley. A few parts of the image have been highlighted with colour and the edges of the panel scored to give a finished appearance.
I decided to make a simple spinner card as my second sample this week and as we haven't done a tutorial for quite some time, I thought I would add a few pics to show some of the stages of construction.
Sadly I don't remember the make of the cute duck, I believe I won it for a challenge a while back. It's unmounted red rubber. If anyone can elucidate that would be wonderful!
  • Stamp and colour the image, then cut out.

  • Cut a circular spot from some double sided dimensional material and stick in the centre, on the reverse of the image you wish to rotate.
  • Cut a track in a piece of card (I used the front of the card for this) using a Word Window punch or use a craft knife and ruler. Ensure that this track is slightly wider than the circular dimensional pad you stick on the back of the image!
  • Surround the track with dimensional pads or tape ensuring that there is space around it for a coin to spin.

  • With the image on the front of the card, stick a small coin to the other size of the circular dimensional from the back, as shown.

  • Attach a backing piece of card to the dimensional tape, covering the coin.
  • Decorate the front of the card with stars.
I'll try to get a little video of him in action rolling along. Don't hold your breath however, as I'm not very proficient in this department!
I tried!

Week 132 One Layer

For our
ONE LAYER
challenge this week, we would like to see
NUMBERS!
Just one would do, but you may have as many as you wish!

For this card I printed the the sentiment and the blue band across the card and then embossed it by using part of a Sizzix numbers embossing folder. To do this I used one B plate on my Cuttlebug, plus a couple of pieces of thick card which together made up the same thickness as a B plate. These were wider than the card and cut to the exact depth of the coloured band.
The card was then inserted in the folder, and the pieces of card aligned with the coloured band and together with one B plate was run through the machine.
To finish, I scored the two lines above and below the panel.
A one layer card that looks like it's not!

This is simply a computer generated sentiment coloured with some Copic pens.
Easy Peasy!

Jen

My first card uses a fabulous new set from Clearly Besotted called blast off... Inspired by the 3-2-1 I thought it was perfect... I've simply stamped it in various momento inks and finished off the flame with a gold wink of stella pen....

I'm not too sure about this one... think I got just a little carried away with the enamel accents but I didn't  have the time for a re-make.  The numbers are from the sketched alpha stamps from Stampin Up and just some pure black versafine ink I have randomly stamped with exception of the 18.  The birthday is also from Clearly Besotted and I just masked off the happy to leave this.

Jen

Firstly, I am sorry if I didn't make it to you this week... I'll be catching up this weekend on a lot of things I didn't have time to do this week.  Don't you just hate it when the week doesn't go as you planned?

For my first card I use scrap of card from Stampin Up (the yellow is More Mustard) and I have simply stitched them with my little sewing machine.  The punches and sentiment are also Stampin up. It's a fairly simple design and great for using up bits of card stock.

My second card uses the same coloured card stock as the first but in very different proportions.  I have kept this card a lot light by using whisper white as the base.  The sentiment is from a retired set from sale-a-bration this year and the button from The Ribbon Girl.

I made two cards this week from one piece of stamping and inking. I took a piece of card and stamped the trees with Adirondack Butterscotch, then clear embossed the images before inking with Adirondack Lake Mist and SU Basic Grey inks, applied with sponge daubers. The Sky was given a little colour with n ink duster brush and SU Bashful Blue ink. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

This second one was made from the same piece of inking, merely chopped to size, over-stamped in Adirondack Hazel Nut with an SU sanded background stamp and put behind a frame.
The tree stamp is from Darkroom Door.
Many apologies for my lack of comments last week, but we were on holiday in Spain with our daughter and two small grandchildren... our time was somewhat occupied... and when we wanted the kids in out of the sun... the iPads were occupied too!
I hope to get around to visit you this week!
